We believe that through a holistic approach to agricultural management we can maximise animal wellbeing and a healthy productive environment.  Our food production philosophy is the maintenance of biodiversity, soil integrity, natural plant fertilization, natural pest control, ecological balance and sustainable stewardship for future generations.  With this approach we focus on maximising the natural immunity of both our animals and plants so that they can naturally combat disease without the intervention of antibotics/conventional medicine.

What we Believe

Why Organic

  • Natural Food. No synthetic pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers, antibotics, growth hormones or genetic modification.

  • Kinder to animals. Free grazing animals, farm grown organic feeddstuffs and good farm husbandry.

  • Kinder to the environment.  Less intensive farm practices that focus on biodiversity, crop rotation, soil integrity, reducing pollution to air, soil and water.

  • Sustainable Management. Meeting the agricultural needs of the present generation without adversely impacting the needs of future generations.

  • Resource Efficiency. Whole system approach that considers nutrient management, energy use, water conservation, soil integrity and biodiversity.

  • Sustainable Growth. Utilising traditional techniques with science and innovation to maintain good food prroduction within safe ecological boundaries.

Our Story

We have been practicing organic farming techniques since 2001.  There has been five generations of Clarkes farming this land in the rolling hills of County Armagh, which makes Carrickbrack very special to us. We recognise the natural value of this resource we have inherited from past generations and strive to have an integrated approach to the management and development of our farm.  It is this inter-linkage between past, present and future that drives us to value the multifunctionality of our landscape and provide our customers with premium quality and healthy products in a sustainable manner.
